GUARD. Following from Military Attache, Chungking is repeated on instructions of Chiefs of Staff:-

Begins: W. 1657. For General Ismay repeated General Carton de Wiart.

1, The executive order for following U.S. Staff proposal for Hong Kong was given by Generan Wedemeyer yesterday at 1415 hours. It is not known whether implementation has as yet boon effected but if not operation is expected to tako place today.

(a) Reconnaissance team of six to bo parachuted to main

P.O.W. and internee camps as soon as resistance ceases. Task. Report on state of camps and health, report drugs and also food, etc. required, report state local landing grounds.

(b) Medicines and food will be dropped to camps as soon as possible by aeroplane from Pacific theatre in hopes that P.O.W. can make immediate use of them, This possibly before (a) above.

(c) According to report of reconnaissance team fly in of

doctors and medicines will take place as required.

(a) Evacuation by air of urgent health cases, key personnel,

etc.

2. Safeguard aircraft for 1 (a) and (b) to be provided by Americans (corrupt group) representative member in Xiams as 1 (a).

3, Commanding Officers B.A.A.G. and A.G.A.S. now at Kunming for co-ordination purposes.

Moro comprehensive plan for Hong Kong has not been received here from H. Q. United States Forces China Theatre presumably because such plan would be subject to reports of reconnaissante at Xiams mentioned 1 (a) above and also on arrival British Naval Unit.
